One of the hardest things about starting a new book is naming it. I can go through as many as 50 potential titles before finally settling on one. The names blow through my brain like loose pieces of debris in a windstorm until I finally snag the one that fits. All right, it’s an imperfect metaphor but that’s basically my thought process. At the same time I’m thinking about my next set of characters, themes, and story line. I sometimes find it hard to be in the moment.

Anyway, the title of my next novel is “Wet Work.” It will be the third of my Salem Matthews novels. I still have to develop my characters and put together a synopsis before I can start the actual writing. I’m looking forward to it. Stay tuned.
