Beaches, that’s what does it for me. Not, “Beaches,” that movie with Bette Midler that women seem to love. I believe a survey would bear out my impression that 9 out of 10 men would rather listen to a timeshare salesman than watch that movie. I watched it with my wife. She needed tissues because she was crying; I needed a sharp pencil to puncture my eardrums.
Anyway, the beach is a place that calms my mind and rejuvenates my spirit. Others find their peace in the woods, mountains, lakes, trout streams, even deserts.
Everyone needs a place they can go when they feel the world closing in on them. It’s a claustrophobic feeling, but it’s fixable.
Go find your place.
